What's the STAR Test?
The STAR Assessment is a nationally recognized, computer-adaptive test that provides clear insight into a student’s academic performance and growth. STAR is designed to meet students where they are by adjusting the difficulty of questions based on their responses—so the test remains efficient while still producing meaningful results.
Families typically use STAR to:
- Gain a clear snapshot of current skill levels in Reading and/or Math
- Identify strengths and next-step learning goals
- Track progress over time with optional retesting
- Support homeschool planning with actionable, teacher-informed feedback
STAR is a helpful tool for both new and seasoned homeschool families who want measurable data to guide instruction while keeping the process low-stress and easy to complete from home.
