Write Shop: II Student Workbook

$62.00

Flexible and creative, WriteShop is an ideal homeschool writing program for teens! The 5th edition features faith-neutral content, streamlined introduction, updated student instructions and student/teacher checklists, and some updated lesson content.  WriteShop lessons give students a chance to practice descriptive, informative, and narrative writing through focusing on brainstorming, drafting, editing, and revision skills.

Assignments teach descriptive and informative paragraphs as well as first-and third-person narratives, important techniques of style, and self-editing. Students learn to choose vivid, descriptive words and vary their sentences in order to build strong paragraphs. With each lesson, they learn and practice new skills, apply them to their current writing project, and edit and revise the composition several times. By the end of the lesson they'll have a polished paper to be proud of! Students write one composition over a two-week period, revising it twice. Exercises are designed to be approached consecutively, incrementally building upon previously learned material. Students edit their papers methodologically, using a Writing Skills Checklist tailored to the individual lesson.

WriteShop II features advanced writing concepts for students in grades 8-12. It's recommended that all students in Grades 6-10 begin with Writeshop I; juniors and seniors can begin with WriteShop II unless they need remedial help. Lessons may take up to an hour per day. At the pace of one lesson in two weeks, students will finish WriteShop II in one year.

Please note that the teacher's edition (sold-separately) is required to use this program.
