The Story Behind The Homeschool Hive
Homeschooling looks different for every family, and families come to The Homeschool Hive at all different stages of the journey. Some are just getting started. Others have been homeschooling for years and are looking for the right curriculum, fresh ideas, trusted guidance, or simply new ways to make homeschooling work for their family.
For Kimberlee Tucker, homeschooling became personal in 2011 when her daughter, Sophia, struggled to fit the public-school box due to autism, social anxiety, and OCD. After Sophia asked to be homeschooled, their family took the leap into a journey that would ultimately change both of their lives.
Once they made the transition, Kimberlee watched Sophia excel academically because she was able to work at her own pace and focus on her special interests. Seeing her daughter thrive through a more individualized approach to learning showed Kimberlee firsthand just how powerful homeschooling could be.
As a Florida-certified teacher, she began helping other homeschool families through portfolio evaluations, standardized testing, consultations, and mentorship. What started with a small group of families in Central Florida eventually grew to serving hundreds of homeschoolers across the state.
Through those years of working with families, Kimberlee saw how valuable it was for families to have knowledgeable guidance, helpful resources, and a community that understood the homeschool journey.
Families needed more than just good products. They needed people who understood the homeschool journey and could help them navigate it.
In 2017, Kimberlee began dreaming about creating a homeschool store for families in the Tampa Bay area: a place where curriculum, educational resources, evaluations, personalized support, and community could come together.
In 2022, that dream became a reality when The Homeschool Hive doors opened!

Who We Are
Today, The Homeschool Hive brings together real-world homeschooling experience, knowledgeable guidance, curriculum, resources, and personalized support in one place.
Our team includes passionate homeschool parents, homeschool graduates, and educators who understand that there isn't one "right" way to homeschool. When you come to us with a question, you're talking to someone who understands the journey and can help you find options that make sense for your child and your family.
Our Store Bees help families work through curriculum choices by asking questions, listening, and helping you find the best options.
Our Mini Bees support families with evaluations and testing, including PEP-approved assessments like the STAR Assessment, PIAT-R, and WRAT-5, helping make a sometimes overwhelming part of homeschooling easier to navigate.
And our Warehouse Bees work behind the scenes to make sure that once you've made your decision, your order is handled accurately and gets where it needs to go.

What We Believe
Our tagline is "Learn. Play. Thrive!" and we mean all three words.
Homeschooling is about academics, but it's also about giving families the flexibility to discover how their children learn best, spend meaningful time together, explore their interests, and build a homeschool experience that works for real life.
Our goal is to help de-stress and de-clutter your homeschooling decisions. You don't need every curriculum option or every opinion on the internet. Sometimes you just need a trusted resource that can help you sort through the noise and figure out what makes sense for your family.
That's what we want The Homeschool Hive to be.
Whether you're looking for the right curriculum, navigating scholarship options, preparing for an evaluation, or looking for helpful resources, we're here to share what we know, answer questions, and help you feel more confident about the homeschool journey ahead.
Ready to Find What Works for Your Family?
Finding the right homeschool resources doesn't have to feel overwhelming. Start by browsing curriculum and resources for your child's current grade level, then explore the options that make the most sense for the way they learn.
